A progression from the starter course, this two day session delves deeper into the techniques of working with studio lighting, developing your ability to “see” light and the way it affects your images. Through guided shooting sessions with your tutor, you will discover the effect each modifier has on the type of light produced, and begin learning how to craft light in order to sculpt your subjects. Starting with very basic single light set ups you will progress over the course of the weekend to work with more complex lighting designs using multiple lights.
Throughout the course, you will work with three different models, both in groups and also on a one to one basis, giving you time to practice and refine the techniques you have learnt. This is a very practical course, and you will be encouraged to take a lot of images over the course of the weekend. Your images will be uploaded and reviewed by your tutor within the group, giving feedback and advice to help you progress. By the end of the weekend you will feel confident in using studio lighting equipment to light a room, lighting a subject, correctly metering light, and working with a model.
