Mini Click talk: Pecha Kucha
On Wednesday 9th May, the miniclick talks are linking up with the University of Brighton and Pecha Kucha Brighton to put together an evening of short talks by the MA Photography students as part of the Fringe.
Pecha Kucha is a format of presentation whereby the speaker is limited to 20 slides, with each one being on screen for 20 seconds; resulting in quickfire talks that last 6:40 seconds. On Wednesday, 14 students from the MA Photography course at Brighton will be presenting their work, their influences and their stories.
“I’ve been talking to the university for a while now to try and do something together, so I’m really pleased to have this event lined up. After speaking to some of the tutors there, we decided to rope in the entire MA Photography group for the talk. There’s a huge mixture of photographic styles, projects and stories amongst the 14 that will be presenting, so it promises to be fascinating. The Pecha Kucha format is pretty informal and always good fun as well. I’ve been genuinely impressed with the enthusiasm the students have approached their talks with, so I hope we get a crowd down there that can match them!”
The event is at The Old Market on Upper Market St, Brighton & Hove. Tickets are £4 or £3 for concessions and doors are at 6:30pm.
