Lucky Dame
The Photocopy Club recently showcased the work of both up and coming and established photographers in a special one off exhibition as pat of Brighton Fashion Week. As one of the exhibiting photographers, Kenny McCracken shot an editorial using a designer from the fashion week shows.
‘To shoot for a specific medium gives you an advantage as you know how the final work will be produced. In this instance in shooting of the Photocopy Club, I knew that my images would be shown as B/w photocopies, giving the final images a lower quality than standard exhibition prints . Armed with this knowledge my aim was to shoot a gritty take on the normally clean and colourful designs of latex couture brand “Lucky dame” who specialise in pastel latex pieces. I wanted the images utilise the fact that in copying an item on a photocopier which is not totally flat against the glass, it slowly fades into black. To highlight, this I wanted the model to be reaching out of the black into the light, also emulated in the makeup and feel of the poses.’
