Create thankfully picked one of the few sunny days we’ve had this year to shoot promo images for rootsy rock and rollers Holy Vessels, who launched their debut single ‘Springtime Bloom’ through their own label Hello Babe! records yesterday.
Creating a concept for the shoot, photographer Kenny took inspiration from both their name, and style and genre of music, which brought him instant associations with America’s deep south – and the born again christian baptisms that have historically taken place in rivers and lakes across the country.
Although the sun was shining brightly when the Holy Vessels stepped into the water, it wasn’t quite as balmy as it looked. With our lighting assistants sporting wet suits and waders, the brave band launched themselves into icy waters…
