Face of Brighton Fashion Week
With Brighton Fashion Week fast approaching, Create were asked to shoot this this year’s ‘face’, unique and edgy Betsy Pannell who impressed the stylists and designers at last years shows.
Brighton Fashion Week chose her as their ‘face’ of 2012 as a result of her creativity and highly individual look and sense of style, and wished to highlight and capture Betsy’s unique and expressive look and personality in the shoot.
“We chose designer Aneta Mackonyte’s (who will be showcasing a new collection at this years Brighton Frocks Show) colourful and exuberant clothes which we felt complimented Betsy’s personality.
In choosing different environments to shoot Betsy, woking with with various techniques of lighting and location, we were looking to capture the versatility of Betsy and the many facets to her personality.” – Alex Thirwell – Creative Director
The shoot took place in and around Create, with photographer Kenny McCracken, who was impressed with her all or nothing attitude to modelling.
“Betsy is playful but also powerful. She is not afraid to let go and puts a lot of effort into any instructions you give her. Fearless and interesting is how I would describe her. I asked her to stand on top of a 30 foot wall expecting some kind of reservation, but received nothing but a smile and an excited yes”
