Cave Painting
It’s a good thing that critically acclaimed Brighton based band Cave Painting are good sports. Its an even better thing none of them are epileptic. In fact When Photographer Kenny McCracken pitched his concept of covering the band in buckets of paint, whilst firing high speed flash lights at them to catch the streams of brightly coloured liquid about to grace their heads, he was met with surprising enthusiasm.
Its no surprise that the concept for the shoot simply came from the bands name, but the execution was a little more complex than anticipated, involving an almost scientific approach to paint mixing in order to achieve the desired constancy, a lot of ‘dribbling’ and a couple of slightly scared looking interns.
Cave painting were playing last weekend at the Great Escape, and you can read a full interview with them in the Brighton Source here
